Welcome!
I am a cyclist from eastern MA and I’m riding in the 2010 LIVESTRONG Philly Challenge. This site is to connect with those who are supporting me via photos and stories, as well as see updates to my training, fundraising goals and news related to LIVESTRONG and my ride in August.
Who are you?
I am a freelance graphic designer from Melrose, MA, and I have been cycling for the past ten years. On my bike, I have raised money for both American Cancer Society and American Diabetes Association. This is my first event for LIVESTRONG, but I have long been a believer and supporter of their philosophy. I wear a yellow bracelet everyday.
What is the livestrong challenge?
The LIVESTRONG Challenge is a series of events across the country aimed towards raising money for cancer support and resarch. Philly is one of four cycling and running events, the other three in Austin, Seattle and San Jose. The Challenges are LIVESTRONG's biggest events, and draw thousands of riders and runners every year.
Why are you riding?
I am not immediately affected by cancer, but the risks are there, and I want to do all that I can now to be prepared for the future. By getting involved with LIVESTRONG I hope to aid them in their quest to make more people and governments aware of cancer research and support. Team Fatty is the team I am on for 2010. Fatty is a cycling, blogging and fund-raising wonder, having raised the most of any team in all four events in 2009. I am proud and excited to ride with other members of Team Fatty this year.
How can I help?
